DESCRIPTION:The idea for this work was initiated as a result of fruitful d
 iscussions with Prof G.W. Milton on transient propagation of waves through
  waveguides whose physical properties may abruptly change in time. The imp
 ortant feature of such temporal interfaces is the wave reflection and tran
 smission in transient regimes. In the lecture\, we show an example of a st
 ructure of periodic temporal interfaces\, which leads to a transmission re
 sonance. Furthermore\, we consider a new type of temporal interfaces\, a c
 hiral temporal interface\, that provides coupling between different displa
 cements components\, and analyse transmission patterns.\nThe lecture is ba
 sed on the results of the joint work with N.V. Movchan\, I.S. Jones\, G.W.
  Milton and H.-M. Nguyen.
