 n*Biography of the guest speakers*\n\n*Session Chair: Rt. Hon. Andrew Mitc
 hell MP\, Minister of State (Foreign\, Commonwealth and Development Office
 ) (Minister for Development). Senior Fellow\, CRSD\, Cambridge University*
 \n\nAndrew is the Member of Parliament for Sutton Coldfield. He was appoin
 ted Minister of State (Foreign\, Commonwealth and Development Office) (Min
 ister for Development) in October 2022. Andrew was the Secretary of State 
 for International Development in the British Government from May 2010 unti
 l he became Government’s Chief Whip in September 2012. He was a member o
 f the National Security Council in Britain and a Governor of the World Ban
 k between 2010 and 2012. He was appointed to the Privy Council in 2010. Be
 fore joining the cabinet in 2010\, he held numerous junior positions in Go
 vernment (1992-1997) and in opposition (2003-2010). He has been a Senior A
 dviser for Investec since 2013 and Ernst & Young since 2016. He served in 
 the Army (Royal Tank Regiment) as a UN Peacekeeper before joining the Inte
 rnational Investment Bank\, Lazard where he worked on and off for 30 years
 . He was a Director of Lazard Asia and Lazard India as well as of Lazard L
 ondon. He is a Senior Fellow at the Centre for Resilience and Sustainable 
 Development (CRSD) at the University of Cambridge\; he is a Visiting Fello
 w at the School of International Studies of Peking University\; and an Hon
 orary Professor at the School of the Social Sciences for the University of
  Birmingham.\n\n*Lady Fiona Hodgson\, current member of the House of Lords
 *\n\nFiona Hodgson\, a campaigner on women’s issues and senior member of
  the Conservative voluntary Party\, was elevated to the House of Lords in 
 August 2013.\n\nShe was President of the Conservative Women’s Organisati
 on from 2008 to 2011\, Chairman from March 2005 to 2008 and Deputy Chairma
 n from 2002 to 2005. From 2009 to 2012 she was on the Board of the Conserv
 ative Party\, first as Vice President of the National Convention (2009-201
 1) and then as President (2012)\, chairing the Party Conference in Manches
 ter in October 2011. She is Vice Chairman of the Conservative Policy Forum
  and a member of the Conservative Human Rights Commission.\n\nSince the en
 d of her term of office as Chairman of CWO in 2008\, she has worked on int
 ernational women’s issues especially in the context of developing and co
 nflict countries.\n\n*Mr Martin Griffiths\, Under-Secretary-General for Hu
 manitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator at the United Nations*
 \n\nMartin Griffiths is a British diplomat who currently serves as Under-S
 ecretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator
  at the United Nations.\n\nGriffiths is a diplomat at the UK's Foreign\, C
 ommonwealth and Development Office and an experienced conflict mediator. G
 riffiths previously served as the first executive director of the European
  Institute of Peace from 2016 to September 2018. In 1999\, he helped launc
 h the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue in Geneva. He has also worked for S
 ave The Children\, Action Aid and UNICEF and has worked as an advisor to m
 ultiple United Nations Syria envoys.\n\nFrom 16 February 2018 to 19 July 2
 021 Griffiths served as the United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen at the 
 Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen.\n\nOn 12 M
 ay 2021\, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres announced tha
 t he had appointed Griffiths as Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian A
 ffairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator at the Office for the Coordination
  of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).\n\n*Host: Dr Nazia M Habib\, FRSA\, Found
 er and Research Director\, Centre for Resilience and Sustainable Developme
 nt (CRSD)\, Cambridge University*\n\nDr Nazia M Habib\, FRSA is the Founde
 r and Research Director for the Centre for Resilience and Sustainable Deve
 lopment (CRSD)\, at the University of Cambridge. She also holds academic p
 ositions in the Department of Engineering and the Department of Land Econo
 my. Trained as a political economist\, Nazia specializes in using systems 
 thinking approaches with political economic theories to influence one's wo
 rldview of decision making with an emphasis on Sustainable Investment\, Re
 sponsible Innovation\, and Good Governance. She focuses on emerging issues
  within economies and has since worked with governments from over fifty-se
 ven (57) countries. Nazia has received several awards notably\, the Common
 wealth Fellowship\, Newton Fellowship\, and Harvard Sustainability Science
  Fellowship. She is currently a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA)\
 , a special advisor for the EAT Foundation\, a Non-Executive Board member 
 for TISATech\, and a past Fellow with the World Economic Forum (WEF).
