DESCRIPTION:In this talk\, I will report on my work in progress towards mo
 dularity of odd two-dimensional `non-cohomological' Galois representations
  over totally real fields in (hopefully) two different contexts: (1) the g
 eometric Serre weight conjecture (i.e. mod p Galois representations)\, as 
 recently formulated in my joint work with F. Diamond and (2) the Fontaine-
 Mazur conjecture (i.e. p-adic Galois representations). The first part is j
 oint work in progress with F. Diamond.
