DESCRIPTION:N-body simulations indicate that galactic bars should slow dow
 n over time\, owing to the interaction between the bar and the dark matter
  halo. This stands in conflict with observations\, which indicate quickly 
 rotating bars. We show that in a simulation which includes the gas phase t
 he bar does not slow down\, and offer tentative explanations for the behav
 ior.
