DESCRIPTION:The EU is preparing to introduce several new AI-related regula
 tions\, including the EU AI Act and the Digital Markets Act\, which may re
 sult in significant implications for the field. In this session\, I will g
 ive a brief no-prior-knowledge-needed introduction to these upcoming regul
 atory frameworks\, followed by a discussion. We will discuss potential imp
 lications both for commercial efforts and for research\, and touch on vari
 ous recent ‘hot topics’ around LLMs\, profitability\, and various open
