DESCRIPTION:John H. Rossmeisl is the Dr. and Mrs. Dorsey Taylor Mahin Endo
 wed Professor of Neurology and Neurosurgery at Virginia Tech.  He received
  the DVM degree from Auburn University\, an MS in molecular biology from V
 irginia Tech\, and is board certified by the American College of Veterinar
 y Internal Medicine (ACVIM) in the specialties of small animal internal me
 dicine and neurology.  He holds joint appointments in the Wake Forest Bapt
 ist Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Virginia Tech-Wake Forest Universi
 ty School of Biomedical Engineering.  Dr. Rossmeisl has worked for more th
 an 20 years on elucidating the mechanisms that drive the formation of brai
 n tumors\, developing novel systems for the delivery of drugs to the brain
 \, and conducting clinical trials in companion animals with brain cancers.
   He has published more than 200 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters.
  His research on brain tumors has been funded by the National Institutes o
 f Health\, National Science Foundation\, Focused Ultrasound Foundation\, A
 merican Brain Tumor Association\, American Kennel Club\, and numerous priv
 ate foundations. He serves on several national research advisory boards\, 
 including the National Cancer Institute’s Comparative Brain Tumor Consor
 tium Steering Committee\, and is a past-president of the ACVIM specialty o
 f neurology.  \n\nChaired by Dr Paul Freeman
