DESCRIPTION:COVID-19 convalescent plasma to meet unmet therapeutic needs\n
\nEarly transfusion of plasma donated by individuals having recovered from
COVID-19 (COVID-19 convalescent plasma) is likely to reduce the risk of s
evere COVID-19 lung inflammation. A correlation between the dose of neutra
lising anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies in the transfused plasma and therapeutic
success has been reported in several studies\, including those involving
hospitalised patients.\n\nThe evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic may inclu
de the emergence of COVID-19 variants even less sensitive to the protectiv
e vaccination and/or prior infection. In this setting\, high concentration
plasma collected from donors recovering from these variants is likely to
constitute a treatment available quickly\, widely and inexpensively.\n\nIn
this talk\, Pierre Tiberghien will discuss the French study CORIPLASM and
other studies which suggest that CCP may be an effective therapeutic opti
on in patients with underlying immunodeficiency and hospitalised with seve
re COVID-19.\n\nThis event is hybrid.\nHeart and Lung Research Institute\,
