DESCRIPTION:Animals make inhomogeneous use of space\, and these non-unifor
 m movement patterns underpin the efficacy and plasticity of foraging\, mat
 e-finding and other ecologically relevant interactions. We present an anal
 itically solvable model of wildlife-vehicle collisions of a range-resident
  animal on a road\, based on the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process. More generall
 y\, this serves as an example of how probabilistic local interactions can
