DESCRIPTION:\nThe dynamics of bacteria in a petri dish can be investigated
through a judicious placement of masks to stop lethal ultraviolet radiati
on from destroying the bacteria while they move about as described by the
Fisher equation. A two-mask scenario and a simple but exact theory are pre
sented\, capable of probing the validity of the Fisher equation and reveal
ing the values of its dynamic parameters.\n&nbsp\;\nV. M. Kenkre and M. Ku
