DESCRIPTION:Maximal supergravity in two dimensions enjoys an infinite-dime
nsional rigid symmetry group\, E_9\, that generalises the Geroch group of
pure GR with two isometries. We may break this symmetry by gauging. This g
ives rise for instance to SO(9) gauged supergravity\, relevant for the hol
ographic description of the D0 brane matrix model. A vast\, unexplored lan
dscape of other theories is available which can capture features of many o
ther black-hole models. The full formulation of their dynamics and their s
tring theoretic interpretation were however lacking. I will describe the f
ull (bosonic) construction of these theories and the framework necessary t
o related them to consistent Kaluza--Klein compactifications of ten- and e
leven-dimensional supergravities. I will summarise the map from D0 brane g
eometries to SO(9) gauged supergravity as well as some ML-like techniques
useful to explore the landscape of 2d gauged supergravities.
