DESCRIPTION:Erwin Schrödinger published his famous equation in 1926. It h
as become the basis for understanding most of atomic\, molecular and conde
nsed matter physics. Schrödinger came to work in England from 1933-36 and
was based in Magdalen College\, Oxford [1]. During this period he publish
ed his papers on Entanglement and Schrödinger's Cat. He also interacted w
ith close friends in Cambridge\, including Paul Dirac and Max Born who had
a temporary position at St. John's College. \n\nThis talk will describe S
chrödinger's work and career with particular emphasis on his time in Oxfo
rd and his previously unappreciated visits to Cambridge. David Clary will
also briefly describe his own research on applying Schrödinger's equation
to molecular collisions and chemical reactions.\n\n[1] David C. Clary\, S
