DESCRIPTION:Dr Vanessa van den Boogaard\, who has spent a considerable amo
 unt of time researching the politics of taxation in an African context\, w
 ill be presenting her book project “Informal revenue generation and the 
 state in Sierra Leone”.\nVanessa is a Research Fellow at the Internation
 al Centre for Tax and Development and at the Institute of Development Stud
 ies (University of Sussex) and a Senior Research Associate at the Munk Sch
 ool of Global Affairs and Public Policy (University of Toronto). Her resea
 rch specialises in the politics of taxation and informal institutions\, th
 e political economy of development\, and conflict and state building. \nAs
  ever\, Cambridge Tax Discussion Group meetings are open to all. No expert
 ise in or prior knowledge of taxation is required.
