Unit meeting rooms 1 and 2\, Level 3\, Wellcome-MRC Institute of Metabolic
  Science\, Addenbrooke’s Hospital\, Cambridge\, CB2 0QQ\, and online.\n\

ng\, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about jo
ining the meeting.\n\nAbout this talk\nBoth diet and gut microbiome are im
portant modifiable factors to modulate the risk of type 2 diabetes. There
is emerging interest to examine the role of gut microbiota in mediating th
e diet-diabetes relationship. Here in this talk\, I will present our work
in several Chinese cohorts showing how dietary and nutritional factors int
eract with the gut microbiota to modulate risk of diabetes and its risk fa
ctors. Apart from the above nutri-microbiome epidemiology approach\, I wil
l also present some unpublished results about the diet-gut microbiome inte
raction on glycaemic traits by using novel n-of-1 clinical trials.\n\nAbou
t Dr Zheng\nDr Ju-Sheng Zheng is a principal investigator and assistant pr
ofessor at Westlake University\, China. He got his PhD in nutrition at Zhe
jiang University and postdoc training at MRC Epidemiology Unit at Cambridg
e University (2015-2018). The major interest of Ju-Sheng’s group at West
lake is to investigate the interplay among diet\, gut microbiome and host
genetics for cardiometabolic health by using longitudinal cohort studies a
nd novel clinical trials. Majority of these works have been published in l
eading journals in the field\, such as Gut\, Diabetes Care\, Nat Commun\,
Diabetologia and Am J Clin Nutr.
