DESCRIPTION:Dr Cliódhna O'Connor is a social psychologist and Associate P
 rofessor in University College Dublin\, where she leads the UCD Classifica
 tion & Attribution Lab. Her research explores the social and psychological
  processes through which we classify individuals into social categories an
 d attribute causal explanations for those groups’ characteristics. She i
 s particularly interested in how scientific and clinical classifications i
 nfluence self-concept and social identity\, and has explored these links i
 n a range of social contexts including gender stereotypes and psychiatric 
 diagnosis. She holds degrees from Trinity College Dublin\, the London Scho
 ol of Economics & Political Science and University College London.
