DESCRIPTION:Snakes are among the most diverse vertebrates on the planet\,
with over a thousand species inhabiting tropical regions of the Americas.
However\, the origin of this diversity remains relatively unexplored. My r
esearch objectives include the description of recently discovered fossils
in northern South America and an exploration of the factors driving the di
versification of neotropical snakes. This investigation will utilize the f
ossil record and its correlation with significant palaeoclimatic and paleo
 geographical events.
