DESCRIPTION:We present a new dataset of the monthly steric height anomaly 
 (SHA) from\n2002-2018 for the Southern Ocean south of 50°S\, for both the
  ice-free and icecovered\nocean. The SHA has been calculated using satelli
 te altimetry and\ngravimetry and validated against Argo float and tagged e
 lephant seal (MEOP*)\ndata. We present an analysis of the seasonal cycle a
 nd long-term trends in the\nSHA\, finding close links to the Southern Osci
 llation and the Southern Annular\nMode\, particularly in West Antarctica.\
