DESCRIPTION:Pancreatic cancer is highly metastatic\, with a 5-year surviva
 l rate of less than 10%.&nbsp\; Tumours are hallmarked by accumulation of
 highly fibrotic extracellular matrix\, which correlates with poor prognosi
 s and spread to organs such as liver\, lung and peritoneal cavity.&nbsp\;
 Our aim is to understand the molecular connections between force sensing a
 nd aggressiveness of tumour cells.&nbsp\; We recently discovered a connect
 ion between mechanosensing\, invasive migration and metabolic supply/deman
 d in pancreatic cancer cells.&nbsp\; I will discuss our model for how cell
 s align their cytoskeletal polarity with their metabolic machinery to meet
  the high demands of the cancer microenvironment.&nbsp\; If we can better
 model and understand this alignment\, we can hope to find new ways to targ
 et the aggressiveness and spread of pancreatic cancer.&nbsp\;\n&nbsp\;
