DESCRIPTION:Future renewable energy scenarios often rely on the extensive 
 utilization of CO2 as a sustainable carbon-based feedstock. The conversion
  of CO2 to chemicals and fuels can proceed either via electro- or thermo-c
 atalytic routes. Here\, extensive quantum chemical calculations will be em
 ployed to shed light on both\, the thermal and electro-catalytic reaction 
 mechanisms employing heterogeneous catalysts.
