DESCRIPTION:The Pacific Greenhouse Gases Measurement (PGGM) Project is a T
aiwan research project under the lead of National Central University and w
ith the support of Taiwan Environmental Protection Administration\, Taiwan
National Science Council\, China Airlines\, EVA Air\, and Evergreen Marin
e Group to conduct long-term measurements of greenhouse gases over the Pac
ific regions. The PGGM project will collaborate with the European IAGOS-ER
I project to provide long-term measurement of greenhouse gases over the Pa
cific regions by in-service Airbus aircrafts from China Airlines and EVA A
ir. Both airlines will fly the IAGOS-ERI instruments during their routine
commercial operational services over the Pacific regions. For the measurem
ents over the marine boundary layer\, the PGGM project will collaborate wi
th the UK Cambridge University to deploy autonomous and continuous measure
ments of greenhouse gases on-board in-service container ship during its ro
utine commercial operations. By doing so\, we can obtain regular coverage
of greenhouse gases measurements over the regions of the remote marine bou
ndary layer which are difficult to obtain with the conventional methods.
