DESCRIPTION:The exquisite data from Gaia has made it possible to identify
signs of the ancient accretions that built up our Galaxy. When combined
with high quality spectra\, the chemical and dynamical analyses of stellar
streams (found from conserved dynamical quantities) and nearby satellites
(with improved memberships from precision proper motions) can be compared
. In this talk\, I will discuss newly discovered stellar streams that impa
ct models of the ancient star formation properties of dwarf galaxies. Addi
tionally\, chemical analyses of old stars in the extreme outskirts of near
by dwarf galaxies can be used to identify early star formation events\, la
te time mergers\, and/or tidal stripping caused by multiple orbits around
 the Galaxy.
