DESCRIPTION:The Cambridge Network\, in association with Addenbrooke's Char
 itable Trust (ACT)\, is delighted to be able to extend an invitation to al
 l Members of the Cambridge Network to hear Dr Susan Robinson speak at this
  year's prestigious Addenbrooke's Annual Lecture and Reception.\n\nDr Susa
 n Robinson (pictured) is Clinical Director of Emergency Department at Adde
 nbrooke’s\, and she will be lecturing on the subject of modern Emergency
  Medicine: A Matter of Life or Death. Dr Robinson has worked at Addenbrook
 e’s for 16 years and has a particular interest in ED design\, emergency 
 preparedness and patient safety. She will describe the breadth and depth o
 f emergency care in a modern ED using real-life scenarios\, highlight the 
 pivotal role of an ED as an interface between hospital and community and m
 ake comparisons between a ‘real ED’ and television’s ER. \n\nDr Robi
 nson qualified in 1985 from Westminster Medical School\, London and initia
 lly trained in general and respiratory medicine in London before transferr
 ing to the relatively new speciality of Accident and Emergency Medicine. S
 he then moved to East Anglia as a Senior Registrar before taking up a cons
 ultant post in 1995. She is currently the clinical director of the emergen
 cy department and an associate medical director with responsibility for pa
 tient safety. Outside of Addenbrookes she is a senior examiner for the Col
 lege of Emergency Medicine (CEM) and Chair of the Regional Board of the CE
 M. She sits on the Integrated Trauma System Project Board\, recently estab
 lished by the EoE Strategic Health Authority and represents the CEM at the
  Department of Health in regard to pandemic flu.\n\nTo attend\n\nThe lectu
 re is being held at the William Harvey Lecture Theatre in the Clinical Sch
 ool at 6pm on Friday 6 November\, and will be followed by a networking buf
 fet and drinks reception. Participation is FREE to all Individual and Corp
 orate Members of the Cambridge Network\, including anyone working for or s
 tudying at Addenbrooke's Hospital\, the University of Cambridge\, Anglia R
