DESCRIPTION:Building on work of Hermann\, I will give a rough\nclassificat
 ion of the Enriques--Kodaira type of the (generalised)\nHumbert surface of
  discriminant N^2.\n\nI will describe the relation between these surfaces 
 and the 'Hilbert\nmodular surface of discriminant N^^2' (also known as a '
 Modular diagonal\nquotient surface') and will give a moduli interpretation
  in terms of\n(unordered) pairs of elliptic curves whose mod N Galois repr
 esentations\nbecome isomorphic over a quadratic extension (in analogy to F
 ricke\nquotients of modular curves).
