DESCRIPTION: This paper presents a coherent probabilistic framework for ta
 king  account of allelic dropout\, stutter bands and silent\nalleles when\
 n interpreting STR DNA profiles from a mixture sample using peak size info
 rmation arising from a PCR analysis. It extends\n an earlier Bayesian netw
 ork approach  that ignored such artifacts. We illustrate the use of the ex
 tended network on a\npublished casework example.\nThis is joint work with
