DESCRIPTION:Fluid blisters forming beneath elastic membranes arise in a va
riety of settings\, from microfluidic devices to magmatic systems. Previou
s studies have typically considered either the thin\, bending beam limit\,
or the thick\, half-space limit. In this talk I'll discuss a simple model
for the elastic layer that allows us to span these two limits\, along wit
h two models that incorporate it: one for a Newtonian fluid blister\, and
another for two-phase flow in a porous medium with applications to CCS.
