DESCRIPTION:Scientists and scientific literacy are key to achieving the UN
  Sustainable Development Goals to build digital and green economies. All c
 ountries are being advised to invest more in research and development whic
 h also brings technological\, economic and educational development\, howev
 er the gap between richer and poorer countries is widening. We discuss the
  various issues for developing countries\, and grass root work that is bei
 ng done though programme such as 'Physics Without Frontiers'\, to support 
 scientists and students in the Global South.
