DESCRIPTION: All mathematicians will\, eventually\, form some part of
the workforce. The\n abstract nature of mathematics may lead us to b
elieve that our role is\n 'special'\, and that we won't need to worry
about the usual workplace\n interactions\, issues\, conflicts and da
ngers that may arise in other\n professions. This is simply not true.
We face the same issues\, and need to\n know how to deal with them.
Our focused and dedicated nature means that we\n may easily overlook
instances of others trying to exploit or manipulate us\n at work\, re
sulting in harm to ourselves\, and our work becoming harmful to\n wid
er society. We need to know how to identify such people and situations\,\n
and to protect ourselves against them.\n
