DESCRIPTION:Vinberg theory\, which describes invariant theory for represen
tations coming from certain graded Lie algebras\, is well understood excep
t over fields of very small characteristic. I will talk about results rela
ted to the property of stability in these representations: in these exampl
es\, we can describe stable vectors in a uniform way that is independent o
f the field of definition. These results are motivated by a construction o
f representations of p-adic groups by Reeder--Yu\, and if time permits I w
 ill talk about this motivation.
