DESCRIPTION:In the past decade\, the field of exoplanet science has been r
apidly expanding with the discoveries of thousands of new planetary system
s in the Galaxy. The opportunity to characterize worlds different from tho
se in our solar system has revolutionized our understanding of planet form
ation and dynamical evolution. It is now clear that our Galaxy is teeming
with planetary systems of diverse architectures. Yet\, it is currently not
fully understood how the structure and evolution of our Galaxy may affect
the possibility of forming and maintaining these planets. In this talk\,
I will discuss recent results and future prospects to promote a better und
erstanding of the statistical properties of planets in a galactic context
among the Milky Way dynamic components of the thin-disk\, thick-disk and s
 tellar halo of the Galaxy.
