DESCRIPTION:One of the two short-listed sites for the Square Kilometre Arr
 ay is the Murchison district of Western Australia and the scope of radio a
 stronomy in WA has increased enormously in recent times. The informal talk
  will look at some of the projects underway and will describe the newly-fo
 rmed International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR). In particu
 lar\, ICRAR's contribution to collaborative programmes such as PrepSKA and
  the Aperture Array Verification Program will be outlined.
