DESCRIPTION:Queueing systems are the natural probabilistic models when dea
ling with scenarios characterized by congestion and jams. Most of the scie
ntific effort in this field has been devoted to the construction of models
and the study of its mathematical properties and very little attention ha
s been devoted to the statistical analysis of queueing systems. This talk
is about Bayesian statistics in queues. The general Bayesian statistical a
pproach is presented and some special features of the Bayesian reasoning i
n queues are discussed: report of probabilities of direct interest\, predi
ction in equilibrium\, design\, prior distribution\, and combination of di
 fferent sources of uncertainty.
