 their village in the former war zone in the north of Sri Lanka. On their r
 eturn\, they find themselves locked in battle with the state\, its bureauc
 racies\, and environmental lobbies. This film is about place\, work\, and 
 survival. It is about memory and about history\, a people’s history.\n\n
 About the director:\nProfessor in English at the Department of English\, U
 niversity of Peradeniya\, Sri Lanka\,  her academic and research lie in th
 e areas of gender\, dispossession\, the displaced\, and the fraught questi
 on of nation\, Sri Lankan literature\, translation and performance\, film 
 studies. She teaches in the areas of early modern English literature inclu
 ding Shakespeare\, Critical Theory\, modern comparative literature\, and p
 erformance and film studies. An award-winning filmmaker\, performer\, play
 wright\, poet\, and academic\, my creative work emphasizes the idiom of co
 nversation and colloquiality\, while being experiments in form and style.\
