DESCRIPTION:Chromosomal instability is a characteristic hallmark of cancer
\, providing part of the genomic variation that makes cancer so heterogene
ous and hard to treat. Here\, we introduce the notion of recent copy numbe
r aberrations - a way to measure ongoing chromosomal instability using sin
gle-cell whole-genome DNA sequencing. Ultimately\, this will contribute to
a better understanding of the fundamental mechanisms and processes underl
ying chromosomal instability\, and has the potential to improve patient ca
 re in the future.
