DESCRIPTION:Currently the diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder (BD) and Major Dep
ression (MDD) is based on the subjective reporting of symptoms which are e
valuated through clinical interviews. \nUnfortunately\, around 40% of BD p
atients are initially misdiagnosed as MDD and the average time until a cor
rect diagnosis is achieved is 7.5 – 12 years.\n\nTo improve the correct
diagnosis of BD\, we have developed a two-stage diagnostic approach combin
ing an online questionnaire\, which assesses symptoms and demographic pati
ent characteristics\, in conjunction with a biomarker test using mass spec
trometry (MS) on self-collected dried blood spots.\n\nI will also report o
 n findings from a 6- and 12-month follow-up questionnaire and the developm
ent of Censeo\, a digital psychiatric assessment platform\, which was deve
loped by the Bahn lab in collaboration with Psyomics Ltd. The Censeo platf
orm has now been implemented in several NHS trusts.\n\nMore details are "h
ere":https://www.csar.org.uk/lectures and you can book tickets for in-pers
on attendance or find the Zoom link on "Bookwhen":https://bookwhen.com/csa
