DESCRIPTION:We spend our lives interacting with other people\, and in thes
 e interactions faces provide a wealth of both fixed (e.g.\, social group a
 nd age)\, and flexible information (e.g.\, facial expressions that indicat
 e emotions and likely actions). The quality of an interaction\, and its ou
 tcome\, depends on how we perceive and interpret each other’s faces and 
 expressions. In this talk I will present some of my recent work examining 
 how facial expressions influence decision-making. I will also discuss what
  can change how people interpret each other’s facial expressions\, and c
 onsequently the decisions people make. Finally\, I will briefly explore ho
 w my research relates to life in the real-world.
