DESCRIPTION:We initially introduce Kitaev's honeycomb lattice model that s
 upports anyonic states similar to topological insulators. Then\, by exact 
 diagonalization we demonstrate the non-Abelian statistics of the anyonic v
 ortices and their fusion rules. At short distances these vortices interact
  with each other altering the topology of the energy bands of the system. 
 For sufficiently dense vortex lattice a new phase is nucleated that suppor
 ts chiral Abelian anyons.
