DESCRIPTION:This talk will focus on the issues of public health genomics a
 nd public policies.  Dr Zimmern is especially interested in the relationsh
 ip between clinical services and teaching and research\, priority setting 
 in the NHS\, and the law and ethics of medicine.  He is a believer in the 
 importance of international leadership in public health genomics\, and he 
 personally leads the PHG Foundation’s work on the evaluation and regulat
 ion of genetic tests and molecular biomarkers. The Foundation as an indepe
 ndent not-for-profit research and development organisation\, dedicated to 
 making biomedical science work for health in populations around the world.
