DESCRIPTION:David Hargreaves is Associate Director for Development and Res
 earch for the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust (SSAT)\, and Fellow o
 f Wolfson College\, Cambridge.  He has played leading roles in both academ
 ic and policy arenas having previously occupied positions that include: Ch
 ief Executive of the QCA\, a Professor at the University of Cambridge\, Ch
 ief Inspector of the Inner London Education Authority\, and Chairman of BE
 CTA. \n\nIt was as chairman of BECTA that David took a critical interest i
 n the relationship between learning and information/communication technolo
 gy\, the potential power and inherent limitations of ICT. As the embrace o
 f technologically driven solutions continues to grow the question becomes 
 more urgent – can the new technologies transform learning?\n
