DESCRIPTION:For the last three years or so\, the Wireless Team have been i
 nvolved in a couple of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) projects. The overall
  aim of these projects has been to monitor the condition of ageing civil i
 nfrastructure\, specifically local water distribution networks\, bridges a
 nd tunnels. Our part in these projects has focused primarily on the develo
 pment of empirical and electromagnetic (EM) based propagation path loss mo
 dels for these application scenarios. In this talk\, I will give an overvi
 ew of some of some of the (WSN) deployments we have been involved in and a
 lso discuss the results of some of our measurements and modelling.
