DESCRIPTION:Lagrangian cobordisms\, originally introduced by Arnold in 198
0\, provide an equivalence relation between families of Lagrangians in a s
ymplectic manifold. After defining and illustrating important examples of
Lagrangian cobordisms\, we will focus on their Floer-theoretic aspects fol
lowing Biran-Cornea. We will show that\, with sufficient conditions to ens
ure that Floer-theory can be defined\, Lagrangian cobordisms preserve Floe
 r homology.
