DESCRIPTION:Inspired by the structure and dynamics of biological brains\,
neuromorphic hardware has mainly been used as a tool in computational neur
oscience. However\, today this hardware technology has reached the stage w
hen it could enable the next step in computing hardware\, enabling real-ti
me energy efficient AI. In this talk\, I will give a historical and geogra
phic overview of the field and its applications\, with an emphasis on even
t-based vision and robotics.\n\nThe seminar will be held in JDB Seminar Ro
om\, Department of Engineering\, and online (zoom): https://newnham.zoom.u
