DESCRIPTION:SBI has found wide acceptance as one of the leading methodolog
 ies integrating advances in machine learning with scientific inference. Is
  this a revolution in how we do data science in fundamental physics and wh
 at are the implications of adopting a fully simulation based approach? Are
  the tools and proposed methods mature enough to meet the designated goals
  of SBI for next generation Astro data science pipelines? I will review th
 e recent RAS meeting discussing SBI\, with a view to stoking local discuss
 ion. Time permitting\, I will dive into a specific aspect of SBI that inte
 rests me the most\, SBI for model comparison/hypothesis testing.
