DESCRIPTION:Collagen is by far the most abundant protein in ECM and human
body. It accounts for 90% of bone matrix protein content. Being one of the
main structural biomaterials\, it organises\, directs and affects a multi
tude of multicellular processes\, from bone mineralisation to cancer cell
invasions. The ability to form fibres\, bundles of fibres\, and intricate
fibrillar matrices underlies its ubiquity. Despite its importance\, the p
hysical principles of organisation of even the most elementary of collagen
fibrillar structures\, the microfibril\, remain unknown. We will discuss
 them in this talk.
