DESCRIPTION:Film writer\, director and producer Mitko Panov will give a ma
 terclass during which he will speak about the process behind his short fil
 m "With Raised Hands" (1991 Palme d'Or at Cannes)\, his documentary "Comra
 des" and his feature length "The War is Over" which will be premièred at 
 the Arts Picturehouse later in the evening (18:00-20:00). During the maste
 rclass issus around memory\, identity and the consequences of war will be 
 discussed and Panov will talk about how he has constructed narratives arou
 nd these themes through his work. \nMitko Panov was born in Yugoslavia (Ma
 cedonia) and studied Directing at the Polish National School for Film\, TV
  and Theatre in Lodz. He taught directing at the New York University Gradu
 ate Film Department (1991-1995)\, the German State School for Film and TV 
 in Munich (HFF\, 1995-1999) and is a founding member of the New York Film 
 Academy (1992-3).
