DESCRIPTION:After a review of symmetries and classical solutions involved
in the\nAdS3/CFT2 correspondence\, we apply a similar analysis to asymptot
ically flat\nspacetimes at null infinity in 3 and 4 dimensions. In the spi
rit of two\ndimensional conformal field theory\, the symmetry algebra of a
symptotically flat\nspacetimes at null infinity in 4 dimensions is taken t
o be the semi-direct sum\nof supertranslations with infinitesimal local co
nformal transformations and\nnot\, as usually done\, with the Lorentz alge
bra. As a first application\, we\nderive how the symmetry algebra is reali
zed on solution space. In particular\,\nwe work out the behavior of Bondi
’s news tensor\, mass and angular momentum\naspects under local conforma
 l transformations.
