DESCRIPTION:This presentation focus on Medtronic Global Technology and Inn
 ovation (GTI) efforts to create and leverage a three-physics model of the 
 human heart and how these type of models can be leveraged to improve the t
 herapy design. We start by argumenting why simulations is a type of fast p
 rototiping technique and how it has to be combined with other evidence sou
 rces to rapidly deliver better results leaving space for innovation. We ma
 ke the case on how numerical modeling is disrupting the medical device ind
 ustry the same way it happened thirty years ago with the automotive and ae
 rospace industry. We also discuss short and long term needs and goals of t
 he biomedical industry. Finally we will showcase publicly know Medtronic G
 TI successes on modelling and simulation.&nbsp\;
