 es soar\; and the great British youth score the worst underage drinking fi
 gures worldwide.\n\nCambridge turns 800\, but nothing ever seems to change
  here.  Well... Science and technology may now give us the ability to chan
 ge our genes\, artificially create life or end it all through a planet-eat
 ing black hole.  If we're not careful we'll bring the world to an early de
 mise...\n\nBut then wasn't it supposed to end millennia ago?  When Paul wr
 ote\, "the day of Christ is at hand\," he thought he'd see it\, surely?  A
 t least we can be sure that we should be looking forwards\, and not back..
 . right?
