DESCRIPTION:When Richard Todd became Head Gardener at this famous National
Trust property\, he was able to begin a programme of more wildlife friend
ly gardening. Older visitors will remember how the acres of beautiful but
rather dull lawns became wildflower meadows. A system of mosaic mowing has
increased the variety of flowers and all the insects which depend on them
. Come and find out what else Richard Todd has done to encourage all kinds
of wildlife and to educate the next generation of children. He is the wil
dlife gardening advisor to other National Trust gardens.
