We're Doing to Make Sure it Happens Again\, Soon - Dan Kim\, Pembroke Coll

DESCRIPTION:This talk explores the reality of the highly distorted interna
tional agriculture market\, what has been done to fix it by the WTO\, and
how their efforts have contributed to make agriculture a more volatile mar
ket. The mainstream explanation for the rapidly rising food prices has fo
cused on the increasing demand for agriculture products. This talk explor
es the other side that is probably more guilty - supply-side effects. Bot
h economics and politics combined explain the crisis\, and we are nowhere
near close to solving the problems.
