 tre and the Centre for Penal Theory and Ethics\, aims to bring empirical r
 esearch to bear on questions of punishment theory and practice. By organiz
 ing a series of presentations around the question of whether we punish too
  much\, we hope to build an evidence-driven case against excess. In doing
