DESCRIPTION:Iterated enrichments are common in higher category theory\, bu
t usually take one of two forms: iterated strict enrichments (such as the
kind that produce the category of strict n-categories)\, and iterated enr
ichments in which each step is performed more weakly than the last (this i
s the idea that weak n-categories are categories weakly enriched in weak (
n-1)-categories). I will discuss something in between these two extremes\
, namely iterated enrichment in a monoidal bicategory. This machinery wil
l then be used to discuss the Stabilisation Hypothesis of Baez and Dolan.\
nThis is joint work with Eugenia Cheng.\n
